Ali Xeeshan at PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week Karachi
The Phoenix collection by Ali Xeeshan focuses on the Kohli tribe of Sindh. The floods devastated what was once a flourishing area and the collection was a tribute to them. Ali Xeeshan shows great attention to detail and innovative techniques: white paint was used on some pieces giving a beaded embossed look and was added to the finished outfit and sheets of pure gota were appliquéd onto wide leg trousers! Billowing shirts with structured collars illustrated an improvement on the trend of flared fabric. A cropped jacket with Rajasthani ivory bangle inspired sleeves stood out for its inventiveness.
